At the beginning of 2010, I made a promise to myself that this would be the best year yet. It seems like something always gets screwed up and then I get into the mantra of "well, there's always next year...no use in trying to make the rest of the year great now, it has already been ruined."
I started a new job, that I LOVE, I moved into my first "big girl, 3 bedroom" house...that I also LOVE, I bought myself a new car (new to me...) and I've been truly happy for the first time...maybe ever. I've come into my own, as they say...and I finally feel like I get it. I get it. I get it. I never thought I would. And now it all seems so simple. Live and learn!

I promised myself to go to as many concerts as I could manage...go on a vacation...or two...and to just live...for myself and for no one else. This is my life and I was determined to live it. I started off the year with a vacation to Breckenridge-sking for the first time. This turned into a week of blizzards, too many shots of alcohol and doing snow angels in our bikinis. It was amazing, nonetheless. ![]() |

Then I came back to my 15th George Strait concert...with Reba McEntire and LeeAnn Womack - with my mom and dear friends, Luke and Holly. Got to touch George Strait...shook his hand. It was pretty amazing. My mom was SO mad she couldn't get up to him like I did. I just weaseled my way up to him. We were both pretty smitten. We also reconnected with someone that I have thought I didn't like for most of my life and then I realized that I love her...and she will always be a part of our family...even if she has a new last name. :)
Then we got to see John Mayer...Luke, my mom and Holly...and all of the kids. It was my second time to see him play and this was so much better. 5th row. Thank you very much. No touching this one...but maybe after I've seen him 13 more times..
After that, Luke and I headed to Dallas to see BON JOVI. My love. The show was on a Sunday night and we left after the show to make it to work the next day. Monday was ROUGH. Then we hopped back in the car on Tuesday to head to Tulsa. For...wait for it....BON JOVI...again! :) I'm a tad obsessed. We decided to take Wednesday off work because Monday was SOOOO bad.

We saw Trans Siberian Orchestra for the first time...a story about Bethoven...KATT FEST...a bunch of bands at the zooooooo. Jason Boland...one of my all time faves...AND I flew to NYC to stay with my bud Michael...and we went to Jersey to see...wait for it...BON JOVI.
It's always been on my bucket list to see him play in New Jersey...I just always thought that would be a neat concert and OH MY GOSH. I was totally right. It was incredible. Speaking of bucket lists...I might just post mine...that may be my goal for 2011...to knock as many things off of my list as I can.
Back to 2010...I've seen Daniel Tosh perform, went to OU/Texas-AGAIN...and we kicked the crap out of those horns. Saw MC Hammer, Eli Young Band, Jeff Hobbs, 30 Seconds to Mars, Avett Brothers....Luke somehow scored tickets to the last :( Thunder/Lakers playoff game. It was incredible to see that much love for our new team in our city. Get em next time Thunder!!!
Last but not least, I still have my dearest friends and family in my life...old and new...but the biggest miracle of the year was this little guy. My nephew, Finley. He, along with his older twin brothers, hung my moon.
So, I guess my point is, I feel like I have totally fulfilled my goals for 2010. I spent all of my money...I'm scraping money out of my couch cushions to put gas in my car until January...but it has been the best year of MY LIFE. MY LIFE...that's what matters. I can't live anyone else's, so I better make MINE pretty damn good! :) Try to beat 2010, 2011! I double dare you. You've got your work cut out for you.
