"Is the glass half full or half empty, it depends on whether you're pouring or drinking."

It has become an almost daily occurance.  Sonic Happy Hour.  What a delightful treat each afternoon.  It's quickly becoming something that I look forward to each morning...I know that I'll get "a Sonic" before the day is over.

It's literally a hop, skip and a jump from the office and the trips are a nice breath of fresh air.  Even when it's someone else's turn to go, it's almost as equally enjoyable.

I'm not entirely sure that I will ever be able to live in a city that does not house one of these Okie operations.

I may never understand why their Diet Cokes taste better than the next guy's, but I know that they do.  Not to mention that, HELLO, Happy Hour?  Greatest.  Idea.  Ever.  Yes I'd like my large DC to be half off, please and thank you.

Routinely I hear, "Oh!  Five minutes left...Who wants to go to Sonic?!"
I do.  I do.  Pick me.

The office orders never change, so it makes it pretty darn easy to rush right out the door and arrive in the drive-thru at precicely 3:57, along with everyone else in the "Western" district.

Now, here comes my rant.

Since I frequent the same Sonic, I'm getting pretty sick of having this same conversation over and over and over.

It usually goes something like this:

Welcome to Sonic, blah blah blah.
Hi, I'd like a large Diet Coke, please.

One large Diet Coke?  Will that be all?

Yes please.

Ok.  Would you like any cheddar peppers or tots with that?

Nope, just the drink.

Ok, that'll be $.92.  Thanks for making my Sonic YOUR Sonic.

I do understand the upselling notion.  I really do.  But if I wanted cheddar peppers, I would have ordered them when I ordered my drink.  I didn't just forget part of my order.  Did you forget that you asked me if that was all I wanted, BEFORE you asked about the cheddar peppers?

You must have amnesia, Mr. Car Hop Man.

On a side note, don't you hate it when you get a big drink and all they have are the little straws?  AHH!
