“A balanced diet is a cookie in each hand”

Call me Cher Horowitz.

There is something about making your house smell like freshly baked cookies that is pretty heavenly.

My next door neighbors asked me if I would bake them some cookies for Christmas.  Of course I'm not going to say no, it's the least I can do.  Heck, it's Christmas.  So, knowing that they were going to be home tonight, I headed to the store.

Looks good enough to eat...already...

Lovin' from the oven.
The request was chocolate chip and snickerdoodles.  Ok, I can manage that.

I wish I'd paid more attention to the snickerdoodle recipe...I have to chill the dough for at least 2 hours...I've only got 30 more minutes to wait, but I would have rather done it at 8:00 after the chocolate chip were finished.  Such is life...such is my life.  I always skim things.

*Note to self:  work on that in 2011.

So pretty on my new IKEA platter.
I had a lot of fun making the dough(s)...and the cookies.  And my house smells SOOO yummy.  I also finally deep cleaned my kitchen...after the party, it just looked like a gigantic task - well, it wasn't.  I was just too lazy to do it.  But it's done now and I feel like I'm living in a human's house again.  That's a nice feeling.

I hope they like them...but they can't have them all...I'm mailing some to an old friend tomorrow...and this makes me smile.  :)
