“The only reason for time is so that everything doesn't happen at once.”

I must have a different concept of time than most people.  And by most people, I mean the people that work at Chesapeake.  You know, the town inside of the city of Oklahoma City...the one that should have it's own zip code...because Mr. McClendon has made it his goal to take over this place?  (*I don't dislike him, or Chesapeake in the slightest...in fact I kind of enjoy seeing everything that he's doing to this great place I call home...)

As I was driving to City Bites today at lunch...to get a sandwich and an oh-so-delicious pumpkin cookie, I passed the Chesapeake field.  In this field, was a large group of women doing, what looked like, bootcamp.  Later, I saw a group of men playing a game of flag football.  Do these people get an hour for lunch like the rest of the free world?  I'm thinking so.  When I leave for lunch, I'm suddenly rushed, I grab some food...and fly home (about 1.5 miles from my office)...or if I have groceries, I'll whip something up there.  I'm still panicked, on a daily basis...because ONE HOUR is not a very long time to me.  Yet, these lovely people of Chesapeake find it necessary and are obviously capable of playing an entire game of football on their lunch breaks?  Or tossing medicine balls to each other long enough to break a sweat?

This is the way I think about this:

They leave their office, change into their workout gear, walk across campus to the "field" and play their games...do their workouts...whatever they do.  Have you seen the campus?  It's GIGANTIC.  How do they have the time?  Do they have the same hour as I?  I'm now convinced that they don't.

I know that Chesapeake promotes healthy living, which I think is great, but do they get like 3 hours for lunch so they can eat and then play football?  Have bootcamp and then eat?  And then SHOWER???  They do shower afterwards, right?  I'm so very confused about this.  Someone please explain.

Now, I do own various equipment, I have a kettle thing, an ab roller thing, a shakeweight (don't laugh) and a stair stepper thing...but the LAST thing I want to do is any of those contraptions while I'm frantically trying to let the dogs out, make/eat my lunch and get back to my office in ONE HOUR.  Am I being punished and my clocks all go faster than everyone else's?  Oh, I also have a yoga ball...but do I use these things?  NO.  Not on a regular basis, anyway.

  1. LOVE this!!! For the record, it should be 'about' an hour :)

  2. Huh? Are you saying that they get "about" an hour for lunch or that I misspelled something? :)

I'm going with the first option.
